The Driven reported on October 5, 2026 that Tesla Australia was showing A$2,950 off the drive-away price of in-stock Model Y cars, which it put at about 5%, in the ACT, NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. A A$2,000 trade-in bonus applies when you trade in a vehicle, and The Driven reports it covers Model Y purchases and Model 3 orders until the end of 2026.

Two offers, two different conditions
This is the kind of price cut people searching for a "Tesla discount code" are really after, and it does not come from a code. It comes from two separate mechanisms with different rules, and they are easy to blur.

The inventory reduction is attached to specific cars. When the stock in your state sells, the reduction goes with it; there is nothing to apply to a custom order. The Driven's list of states does not include Western Australia, South Australia or the Northern Territory, so if you live there, the article does not tell you the reduction reaches you. Check Tesla's inventory page with your own postcode.
The trade-in bonus is conditional on a trade-in. Its value to you depends on the valuation Tesla gives your old car, and A$2,000 on top of a low valuation can still be worth less than a private sale. Get the valuation first, then decide whether the bonus changes anything.
The prices it sits on
The Driven gives the current list range before on-road costs: Model Y from A$58,900 for the rear-wheel-drive version up to A$84,900 for Performance, and Model 3 from A$45,900 up to A$80,900 for Performance. It also reports that new Model 3 purchases now carry Tesla's 5-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, replacing the earlier 4-year or 80,000 km cover. For context, The Driven counts 41,705 Tesla sales in Australia in 2026 to the date of the article. We repeat these as The Driven's figures; we did not read them from Tesla's site.
Two things are not in the report. It does not say whether the inventory reduction applies to Model Y L, the six-seat version that opened for orders in March, and it does not say when the reduction started. We have dated this item to the report.
How it relates to a referral link
Inventory pricing and a referral link are separate. - Filter Tesla Australia's inventory page by your own state and postcode. The reduction belongs to individual cars, not to the model.
- Get a trade-in valuation before counting the A$2,000 bonus. Compare it with what a private sale would fetch.
- Compare the in-stock car's drive-away price with a custom order's drive-away price for the same specification, not the list prices.
- Screenshot the inventory listing with its date before paying, and read the line Tesla shows under your model if you open a referral link.
