Straight answer

Is there a Tesla promo code? No — and here's what actually changes the price

By the TeslaPromoCodes.com desk · published October 7, 2026

Short answer

There is no promo, discount or coupon code for a new Tesla car. Tesla's order page has no box to type one into. What does exist is Tesla's referral program: a first-time buyer who opens an owner's referral link before ordering gets the benefit Tesla sets for their country.

The one thing that works: your store's referral link

US United States: 3 months of FSD (Supervised) on Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck.

Tesla's page, captured October 4, 2026

A referral link: Tesla applies its benefit when you order through it, and the owner of this site may earn Tesla credits. Independent — not affiliated with Tesla, Inc. How this works

What the "Tesla promo codes" on coupon sites are

Search for "tesla promo code" and the top results are coupon directories. Open one and the listed codes belong to other shops: accessory makers, wrap installers, wall-charger sellers and car-care brands that sell to Tesla owners. Some are real and do take money off a $40 floor mat. None applies to a vehicle ordered on tesla.com, because the vehicle order never passes through those shops.

Two patterns are worth knowing:

  • "$2,000 off" or "$1,000 off" codes. These figures match Tesla's North American referral offer from earlier years. They circulate as "promo codes" long after Tesla changed the benefit. In the United States store, Tesla's referral page showed 3 months of FSD (Supervised) on Model 3 on October 4, 2026 — not cash.
  • "Exclusive" or "verified today" codes. Nothing about a Tesla car order is exclusive to a coupon site. If a code needs to be typed somewhere, it is not for the car.

Why Tesla has no promo code field

Tesla sells direct, at one posted price per configuration in each store. Price changes, financing offers and inventory pricing are shown to everyone in the configurator. The referral program is the single, rule-bound exception: the benefit attaches because you arrived through an owner's link, and Tesla checks the rules (first-time buyer, before the order, the owner's yearly cap) itself.

Order of steps for a Tesla referral benefit 1 Open the link before anything else 2 Right store? your country's Tesla site 3 Configure or pick a new inventory car 4 Place the order same Tesla account 5 Tesla applies it shown with your order Too late: once the order is placed, Tesla's terms say a referral link cannot be credited. The order matters more than the link: open it first, check the store is your own country, then configure and order on the same Tesla account. Tesla applies the benefit; nobody types a code.

What a referral gives you depends on your store

The same link gives different things in different countries. On their latest captures, 4 stores offered FSD (Supervised) months (United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico), 26 offered free Supercharging, and 10 offered cash off (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines). Your own store is pinned at the top of the matrix.

Before you order: three checks

  • You have never owned a qualifying Tesla product on any Tesla account you will use. Buyer benefits are for first purchases only (Tesla's US terms, archived June 15, 2026).
  • You open the referral link before you configure. Tesla's terms: "Referral links cannot be credited after the order is placed."
  • You are buying new — a custom order or a new inventory car. Tesla's FAQ says pre-owned vehicles are not qualifying products.

Questions people ask next

Is there a Tesla promo code for a new car?

No. Tesla's online order flow has no promo, discount or coupon code field, and Tesla does not publish public codes. The only code-like thing that changes what a first-time buyer gets is an owner's referral link, opened before ordering.

Do the Tesla codes on coupon sites work?

Some do, but for accessories sold by third-party shops — mats, wraps, chargers, screen protectors. They do not apply to a car ordered from Tesla.

Can I type a referral code at checkout instead?

No. Tesla's terms say referral links cannot be credited after the order is placed, and there is no field for a bare code. You open the full link first, then configure and order from the page it opens.

Is a referral the same as a discount?

Only in some stores. In North America it is FSD (Supervised) months, in most of Europe free Supercharging, and in several Asia-Pacific stores a cash amount off. The matrix shows which applies where.

Does Tesla ever run real price promotions?

Tesla changes prices, financing rates and inventory pricing on its own site from time to time. Those show up in the configurator for everyone; they are not unlocked by a code.
