Tesla referral offer in New Zealand: NZ$400 off Model 3, nothing on Model Y
If you read in 2024 that Tesla was ending referrals in New Zealand, that was the report at the time. In 2026 Tesla's New Zealand referral page is live again, and it is lopsided: NZ$400 off on Model 3, and a Model Y card with no buyer benefit under it (captures of January 8, 2026 and July 12, 2026).

Model 3 or Model Y?
The referral only changes the price of a Model 3 in New Zealand. Tesla's page lists the Model Y with a zero cash value, so if Model Y is the car you want, a referral link gets you nothing on it. The same pattern shows up in several Asia-Pacific stores — which ones and how we read it.
The New Zealand terms
Tesla's New Zealand Refer and Earn page (archived May 13, 2026) states terms effective August 22, 2025. They carry the global rules: first-time buyers only, links cannot be applied after ordering, and owners can refer up to 10 orders per calendar year.
When the link says the limit is reached
In one of our New Zealand captures (June 17, 2026) the page headline read "[owner's name]'s Referral Limit Has Been Reached", and neither model showed a benefit. That is what you see when the owner has used their 10 referrals for the year. Close it and use another link before you order. How the cap shows up.
