What happened

On the night of August 24, 2026, Tesla raised US Cybertruck prices by $5,000 on two trims: Dual Motor AWD from $69,990 to $74,990 and Premium AWD from $79,990 to $84,990, as reported by Drive Tesla Canada and Electrek. Cyberbeast stayed at $99,990. Canadian prices were unchanged that day. The Dual Motor AWD now costs $15,000 more than at its February 2026 debut.

The price list

US Cybertruck list prices before and after August 24, 2026, as reported by Drive Tesla Canada and Electrek.
TrimBeforeAfterChange
Dual Motor AWD$69,990$74,990+$5,000
Premium AWD$79,990$84,990+$5,000
Cyberbeast$99,990$99,990None

Drive Tesla Canada traced the Dual Motor AWD's path: it debuted in February 2026 at $59,990 and rose by $10,000 nine days later, so the August increase brings the total to $15,000 above launch. Electrek put the increase at 7.1% on that trim.

Why a price rise during weak sales

Both outlets described demand as weak. Electrek reported the line running at "roughly 10% of its planned capacity" and sales "less than 20,000 per year", with about 3,000 trucks in US inventory. Neither outlet reported Tesla's own reason for the increase, and we will not guess at one. What matters for a buyer is that a list-price rise does not reach a car that is already built and listed at its own price.

Inventory may still carry older pricing

Inventory trucks are priced per vehicle. A truck built and listed before August 24 may show a price that reflects the older list, or a reduction of its own, and with thousands in stock that is worth checking before ordering a new build. Confirm the exact trim, model year and price on the listing. Our inventory note explains what to look for.

The referral rules for Cybertruck

Tesla's US referral page, captured October 4, 2026, showed 3 months of FSD (Supervised) on Cybertruck for a first-time buyer. But Tesla's US terms (Tesla's US terms, archived June 15, 2026) carve out the cheapest trim: "Cybertruck Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive is eligible for loyalty benefits only and cannot be purchased to earn buyer or referrer benefits through the Refer and Earn program." So the trim whose price rose the most gets no buyer benefit through a link; Premium AWD and Cyberbeast are not named in that exclusion. The benefit is FSD (Supervised) months, which we never convert into money.

Who it affects

US Cybertruck shoppers comparing trims, and anyone whose quote predates August 24, 2026.

What has not changed

  • Cyberbeast. Still $99,990.
  • Canada, on that day. Drive Tesla Canada reported Canadian Cybertruck prices unchanged on August 24.
  • No offsetting code. No discount or promo code reduces the new prices (why).

What to do

  • Re-price your build in the configurator; any quote or screenshot from before August 24, 2026 is out of date.
  • Compare inventory Cybertrucks, which are priced per truck and may differ from the new list price.
  • Choosing Dual Motor AWD as a first-time buyer? Expect no referral buyer benefit on that trim under Tesla's US terms.
  • Choosing Premium AWD or Cyberbeast? Open a referral link before ordering and read the Cybertruck card on Tesla's page.
